Revitalizing Revelations
As the Twitch music community grows so does my list of outstanding musicians that I want to highlight. I have been listening to and admiring these artists for quite a few months now so it seemed high time that I talk about them. My words will likely prove inadequate and as such I would encourage you to listen to these artists yourself.
Melissa Bret
Melissa has a striking sound that truly defies traditional genre classifications; it’s jazzy, bluesy, and folksy. A better way to describe it would be multifaceted. The timbre of her voice is fantastically calming, soothing and dynamic all at once. I was a fan before I even heard one entire song. This surprised me as the blues and jazz styles typically aren’t my thing; most music I listen to could be filtered into some subgenre of Pop, track after track that I heard her cover left me thinking “Wow that sounds amazing in that style.” I was no less amazed as I heard her perform her own songs too. Luna Keller
Luna has a voice with a classic, timeless sound reminiscent of folk and singer-songwriters from the 60’s & 70’s. Listening to her music takes me on a wonderful journey into the past. I love how the lyrics in her tracks flow so brilliantly and each feel like remarkably poetic tales set to spectacularly crafted music. There is an inquisitiveness as well as the expression of compelling emotions which lies at the heart of each of her songs. Emily Henry
I would describe Emily Henry’s album The New World as having an ethereal, dreamy, and electronic infused pop sound that you just want to jam to. Yet at the same it’s evident in each track there is an emotional core that exists whether it be of joy, excitement or sorrow. Her album is masterfully produced; I had to stop writing a number of times while listening just to fully appreciate what was happening. Especially when listening through headphones I thoroughly enjoy the use of a crisp snapping sound. Check out Emily on Twitch to see what I am talking about.

Malayka
Exhibiting both a remarkable range and one of the most mighty voices I have heard, Malayka is a true vocal powerhouse. Listening to her EP AyoKay was an exceptional experience; her multicultural influences shine through to create a fantastically rare sound. I must have listened to “Revenge” a few hundred times at this point. Every song she sings whether her own or otherwise is transformed into an irresistible, sentimental ballad infused with her superb emotional musical style. Follow the link to catch her live on Twitch.
